In a heartfelt gesture to mark Mother’s Day, the Immigration Ladies Association (IMMILAC) in Assin Fosu extended love and support to orphans at the DaniTess Foster Home. The event formed part of IMMILAC’s weeklong inauguration activities, aimed at providing maternal care and support to children in need.

During the celebration, IMMILAC members engaged the children in joyful dancing and presented various essential items, including bags of rice, sugar, cartons of milk, boxes of tin tomatoes, boxes of soap, washing powder, cereals, gallons of cooking oil, stationery, and a cash donation of GH¢10,000, among others.
In an interview, Chief Superintendent of Immigration Nana Nyarkoa, President of IMMILAC, emphasized that the initiative was driven by the desire to offer maternal love to the orphans. She highlighted the importance of such gestures in alleviating the challenges faced by foster homes. She also advised parents to be well-prepared to cater to their children to prevent situations that lead to child abandonment.

Theresa Osan, caretaker of DaniTess Foster Home, expressed gratitude to IMMILAC for their generosity and appealed to other philanthropists to support the facility, noting the need for additional classrooms to enhance the children’s education.
Accompanying the event were the Central North Regional Police Commander, DCOP Abraham Acquaye; Rev ACI Isaac Nukporfe, Superintendent of Immigration Mr. Benjamin Adakudugu; other Immigration Officers; and IMMILAC members.
