Assin Fosu Leads the Way in Girls’ Education

The Assin Fosu Municipal Assembly, led by MCE Mr. Nicholas Fiifi Baakoh, has taken a significant step towards promoting girls’ education by inaugurating a Girls Model School at Assin Atonsu.

This initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the education directorate, aims to provide a conducive learning environment for young girls in the area.

Present at the inauguration ceremony were notable figures, including Education Director Mr. Brigars Awunor William and traditional leaders, who lent their support to this commendable initiative.

During the event, Mr. Baakoh encouraged the girls to take their studies seriously and strive for excellence.

This development is part of the Assembly’s efforts to improve education in the municipality.

Previously, the Assin Fosu Municipality faced challenges in providing adequate secondary education, but through collaborative efforts, new schools have been established, including Akotiman Senior High at Assin Akropong.

The municipality is also in the process of relocating Assinman Nursing Midwifery Training College to a larger land area with new structures to accommodate the growing student population. The Obiri Yeboah Senior High School has also received significant infrastructure expansion.

The Girls Model School inauguration demonstrates the Assembly’s commitment to addressing educational needs and empowering young girls in the community.
