A Developer and resident in Tse-Addo, Accra, Dr. Benjamin Amuzu, has expressed dissatisfaction over the rising landguard activities in the area. According to Dr. Amuzu, a group of 15 landguards, led by one Mr. Greenham, allegedly demolished his five houses under construction at Tse-Addo, behind Trade Fair.

Dr. Amuzu has called on the IGP, COP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, and the current government, led by President John Mahama, to intervene and ensure justice prevails. The victim, Dr. Amuzu, stated in a press briefing that the case was officially reported at the Greater Accra Regional Police Command, and 11 of the landguards were arrested shortly after. However, the landguards were released the same day, allegedly due to orders from above.

Dr. Amuzu further noted that Mr. Greenham, who is allegedly behind the landguard activities, has been using the names of influential individuals at the presidency to seize lands in the area. Dr. Amuzu appealed to the IGP and the government to act promptly to prevent the situation from escalating.

“We have legally acquired the land with documents from the allodial owners, and we cannot understand why Mr. Greenham thinks he can take the law into his own hands,” Dr. Amuzu said.

The demolition of the buildings has left Dr. Amuzu with significant financial losses, and he is calling on the authorities to take immediate action to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The incident has also raised concerns about the increasing activities of landguards in the area, who are allegedly using intimidation and violence to take control of lands.

The Ghana Police Service has been urged to take a more proactive approach in addressing the issue of landguard activities, which is becoming a major concern for developers and residents in the area.

As the situation continues to unfold, Dr. Amuzu and other affected residents are calling on the government and the police to take immediate action to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure that the rule of law is upheld.
