13,700 Teachers Deployed for National Service

The National Service Authority (NSA) has deployed 13,700 trained teachers to various educational institutions nationwide as part of the 2025/2026 National Service scheme.

In a press statement issued and signed by the NSA Director-General, Felix Gyamfi, the authority indicated that the first batch of trained teachers is from accredited Teacher Training Colleges. The move is designed to strengthen the education sector by addressing the shortfall in teaching staff, especially in rural areas.

The statement entreated all deployed service personnel to visit the NSA website, www.nss.gov.gh, to verify their postings and print their appointment letters for authentication by their designated institutions.

Furthermore, personnel are required to undergo regional validation at specified NSA centers from March 26 to April 11, 2025, prior to formally starting their service on April 2, 2025.

The NSA emphasized that, pursuant to the National Service Authority Act 1119 (2024), every Ghanaian citizen aged 18 and above who has completed a recognized tertiary institution is obliged to undergo national service.

The Authority reaffirmed its dedication to fostering collaborations with key stakeholders, including the Ghana Education Service (GES), the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS), and private educational institutions to augment learning outcomes across the country.

By deploying personnel, the Authority seeks to mitigate the shortage of teaching staff, particularly in disadvantaged areas, and ultimately enhance the quality of education in Ghana.
