Mozano College of Music Cries Out for Help

The College of Music Senior High School in Mozano, Gomoa West District of the Central Region, is struggling to provide quality education to its students due to inadequate infrastructure.
Established in 2012 by Reverend Baah, a minister of the Musama Disco Christo Church, the school has made significant strides in promoting music and cultural studies. However, its development has been hindered by the lack of basic facilities, including boarding infrastructure and classrooms.

Despite being designated as a boarding school, College of Music SHS lacks the necessary facilities to accommodate its students. The school’s infrastructure is also inadequate, with only two classroom blocks available for Forms 2 and 3. Freshmen are forced to use private facilities provided by the Mozano Church.
The school’s situation has been exacerbated by the change of government in 2017, which led to a stall in the school’s development. The school’s administration has been working tirelessly to find solutions to these challenges, but more support is needed.

Wisdom Arkoh Acquah, TEIN CCTU Vice President and Elections Directorates Member, Agona East, has called on the government to develop the College of Music SHS into a specialized creative arts institution.
“College of Music SHS has the potential to become a hub for creative arts education in Ghana,” Mr. Acquah said. “However, the school’s development has been stalled due to lack of support. I urge the government to take immediate action to address the school’s infrastructure challenges and provide the necessary support for its development.”

The development of the College of Music SHS is crucial for promoting creative arts education in Ghana. It is hoped that the government will take the necessary steps to support the school’s development and provide its students with the quality education they deserve.
Mr. Acquah also expressed his gratitude to Honorable Richard Gyan Mensah, Member of Parliament and Deputy Energy Minister, for his contributions to the school.

The College of Music SHS has a rich history of producing talented musicians and artists, and it is imperative that the government supports the school’s development to ensure that this legacy continues.
As the government continues to prioritize education, it is essential that schools like College of Music SHS receive the necessary support to provide quality education to their students.
