‘Ark’ Builder Ebo Noah Granted GHc100,000 Bail

The Adenta Circuit Court has granted bail to Evans Eshun, popularly known as “Ebo Noah,” following his appearance in court today, January 15, 2026.

Eshun, who gained notoriety for prophesying a catastrophic global flood, was granted bail in the sum of GHS 100,000 with two sureties. The court ruled that these sureties must be justified with either landed property or a registered vehicle.

The hearing follows a two-week remand period during which Eshun underwent a court-ordered psychiatric assessment. During today’s proceedings, defense counsel Lawyer Emmanuel Sarfo confirmed that the evaluation report has been successfully submitted to the court. While the specific details of the medical report were not disclosed in open court, the submission paved the way for the bail application.

Background of the Arrest

The “prophet” was arrested on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2025, after his claims of an impending “Great Flood” sparked significant concern. Eshun had claimed to have constructed several “arks” to save his followers from the disaster.

However, police investigations revealed a different story:

• The Admission: Eshun reportedly admitted to authorities that the prophecy was a fabrication designed to create social media content.

• The “Arks”: The vessels he claimed were his “arks” were actually the property of a local fisherman and were used without permission for his videos.

Eshun faces charges of publishing false news and causing fear and panic. The prosecution alleges that his actions were a deliberate attempt to mislead the public for digital engagement.

The court has adjourned the case to March 18, 2026, for the commencement of the trial.
