Winneba roundabout to be remodeled into an interchange – Agbodza

Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has disclosed that the government will remodel the Winneba Roundabout into an interchange as part of efforts to improve connectivity and road efficiency in the Central Region.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on the Citi Breakfast Show on Thursday, July 31, the Minister explained that the current structure is no longer ideal given the strategic importance of the intersection.
He noted that the area serves not only as the gateway to the University of Education, Winneba, but also as a critical junction connecting roads leading to Cape Coast, Swedru, and Mankessim.
He added that converting the roundabout into an interchange is the most efficient way to accommodate the increasing demand on that stretch and to ensure smoother vehicular movement toward Mankessim and beyond.
“It was supposed to be a roundabout. That will not be efficient because the university is on the left side, and then you can go across to another district.
“We think that place is supposed to be an interchange, so we are remodelling that roundabout into an interchange. This will make it more efficient, going towards Mankessim,” he stated.
