Traditional Medicine Can Boost Ghana’s Economy – Prof Duncan

Prof Samuel Ato Duncan, President General of the Center of Awareness Global Peace Mission and Founder/CEO of COA Research & Manufacturing Limited Company, as well as President of the Ghana Federation of Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association (GHAFTRAM), believes traditional medicine has the potential to significantly contribute to Ghana’s economy.

In an interview with the media at GHAFTRAM’s 25th Anniversary celebration, Prof Duncan cited research indicating that approximately 70% of Ghanaians rely on traditional medicine. He highlighted its unique ability to cure certain illnesses that orthodox medicine cannot.
“If we properly develop traditional medicine, Ghana’s revenue will surpass what we earn from gold mining,” Prof Duncan stated. He urged skeptics to reconsider traditional medicine, emphasizing its proven track record.

“Our ancestors successfully used traditional medicine, and it’s still effective today. Believe in us; traditional medicine is good.”
As a prominent advocate for traditional medicine in Ghana, Prof Duncan’s company, COA Research and Manufacturing Company, has developed approved herbal medicines.

Prof Duncan’s remarks underscore the growing recognition of traditional medicine’s potential in Ghana. With the country seeking diverse revenue streams, traditional medicine could play a vital role in boosting the economy.

The 25th Anniversary celebration of GHAFTRAM brought together stakeholders in the traditional medicine sector, providing a platform for discussion and collaboration.
