On Friday, September 13, 2024, PUC Foundation, led by their General Secretary, Wilson Kweku Addae, and their Partners, donated learning materials to over 350 needy school children at the Twifo Ampenkro D/A Basic School in the Central Region.
The beneficiaries, comprising pupils from Twifo Ampenkro D/A Basic School and nearby communities of Kwekukrom and Krofofrom, were overjoyed to receive the donations.
The donation consisted of 2,000 exercise books, 450 pens, and 864 pencils.
According to Wilson Kweku Addae, Secretary of PUC Foundation, the donation aimed to support education in underserved areas. “We believe every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of background or circumstances,” he said. “Unfortunately, many rural schools lack resources. That’s why we’re stepping in to help.”
Addae explained that the donation also sought to bridge the educational gap between urban and rural areas. “We want rural children to have the same opportunities as urban children,” he said. “By providing essential tools, we’re leveling the playing field and giving them a brighter future.”
The pupils expressed heartfelt gratitude to the PUC Foundation and its partners. “We are very thankful for the exercise books, pens, and pencils,” said one pupil. “These materials will help us a lot in our studies.”
The headteacher of Twifo Ampenkro D/A Basic School praised the PUC Foundation for their generosity. “This donation will greatly enhance teaching and learning in our school,” he said.
PUC Foundation continues to support education in rural communities, making a positive impact on needy school children’s lives. This donation is part of their ongoing efforts to provide essential resources to underserved schools.
The foundation’s commitment to education has inspired hope among rural communities, and their work serves as a model for community-driven development initiatives.
