MTN Warns Customers to Be Vigilant Against Fraudsters

MTN’s Corporate Services Advisor for Southern Ghana, Mr. Kennedy Ofosuhene, has urged customers to remain vigilant against fraudsters who constantly change their tactics to lure victims. He encouraged customers to report any mobile fraud-related issues to MTN’s customer care center or nearby offices.

Speaking at a stakeholder engagement in Agona Nkwanta, Ahanta West Municipality, Mr. Ofosuhene emphasized the importance of staying informed about MTN’s products and services, as well as being aware of the latest fraud trends. The event aimed to educate customers on MTN’s services, mobile money fraud, and network improvement initiatives, while also gathering feedback to enhance service delivery.

Mr. Richard Okley, in charge of the Agona Nkwanta Territory, highlighted the benefits of using social media to maximize profits. He demonstrated how artisans and traders can leverage platforms like Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube to showcase their work, attract potential clients, and connect with professionals for collaborative work and referrals.

On MoMo fraud, Mr. Okley advised customers to be cautious of unknown callers pretending to be MTN representatives, only accept calls from the official number 0244300000, avoid sharing personal information or financial details with unverified individuals, and report suspicious transactions or fraudulent activities to MTN’s customer care center.

Testimonials from customers, Mr. Maxwell Krechie and Miss Mabel Awuah, demonstrated the effectiveness of using social media for business, with feedback from customers and increased visibility for their work.

By staying informed and vigilant, MTN customers can avoid falling prey to fraudsters and maximize the benefits of MTN’s services. MTN remains committed to providing a safe and secure mobile experience for its customers.
