Poor Communication Network Hampers Development in Assin Hasowodze

Assin Hasowodze, Central Region – The Chief of Assin Hasowodze, Nana Kweku Armah VI, has expressed grave concerns about the poor communication network in the area, citing its far-reaching consequences on development, education, and entrepreneurship.

In an exclusive interview with Kofi Tutu News, Nana Kweku Armah VI emphasized that the subpar communication network has become a significant challenge, affecting the study of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in schools. He passionately appealed to the government, through the Communication Ministry, to collaborate with service providers, particularly MTN and Vodafone, to improve the network.

“The poor communication network is a major hindrance to our development. Our children are unable to study ICT effectively, and our entrepreneurs are struggling to connect with the business community,” Nana Kweku Armah VI lamented.

Residents in the area shared similar frustrations, highlighting the difficulties in making calls, accessing emergency services, and performing financial transactions due to the poor network. A female trader and resident, who wished to remain anonymous, recounted her experiences:

“As a market woman, I struggle to call customers, and often get ‘switch off’ feedback, even when standing beside them. AirtelTigo is not available here, Vodafone is difficult to access, and MTN is the worst.”

Another resident echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the dire consequences of the poor network:

“When accidents occur, we can’t reach the ambulance service due to the poor network. By the time help arrives, it’s often too late.”

The residents’ pleas highlight the urgent need for improved communication infrastructure to support development, education, and economic growth in Assin Hasowodze and its surrounding communities.

Nana Kweku Abeku, a community leader, commended Nana Kweku Armah VI for his tireless efforts to address the community’s challenges. “We appreciate our Chief’s commitment to development and urge the government and service providers to heed his call.”

The residents of Assin Hasowodze remain hopeful that their cries will be heard, and the necessary steps will be taken to connect them to the telecommunication grid, unlocking the full potential of their community.
