CPP Urges Unity to “Rescue Ghana” in 2024 Elections

Sylvester Sarpong-Soprano, Director of Communications for the Convention People’s Party (CPP), has made a passionate appeal for unity within the party. This call comes after he previously stated that the CPP might not field a presidential candidate in the 2024 general elections due to internal conflicts.
In an interview with Citi News, Sarpong-Soprano emphasized the need for the party to resolve its internal issues to effectively compete against the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He attributed the party’s lack of progress to disruptions caused by internal conflicts and court cases, which have hindered its growth over the past four years. Sarpong-Soprano expressed his commitment to honesty, urging party members to unite and seek support to revamp the CPP.
He stressed that the party must come together to “rescue Ghana” in the 2024 elections, rather than engaging in propaganda. By acknowledging the party’s challenges, Sarpong-Soprano hopes to rally support from the Ghanaian electorate and ultimately strengthen the CPP’s chances in the upcoming elections.
