Central Regional Minister Urges Parents to Embrace TVET Education

Parents whose children struggle academically now have a reason to smile, thanks to the government’s investment in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

The Central Regional Minister, Honourable Justina Marigold Assan, has encouraged parents to consider TVET education for their children.

At the Central Regional edition of the Regional Townhall Meeting and Exhibition on Tuesday, October 15, Hon. Assan emphasized the importance of TVET education in transforming the lives of students who previously couldn’t continue their education due to grade requirements after Junior High School.

“The introduction of free TVET education has created opportunities for students to develop essential skills that can positively impact their lives and contribute to national progress,” she noted.

Hon. Assan highlighted the remarkable growth in enrollment in TVET institutions, nearly surpassing the numbers in the Free Senior High School program.

She also praised the government’s investment in infrastructure for TVET schools, citing institutions like Winneba and Asuansi Technical Institute as examples.

“The government is committed to making Ghana a hub of TVET excellence across the continent,” Minister Assan stated.

She urged parents and guardians to guide children who may not excel academically toward TVET education, stressing that TVET skills enhance employability and contribute to Ghana’s economic development.

The Central Regional Townhall Meeting and Exhibition is part of a nationwide initiative promoting citizen engagement, accountability, and transparency.
