Ejurahene rolls out massive projects to boost local economy

The Chief of the Ejura Divisional Council, Barimah Osei Hwedie II, has pledged to roll out targeted development initiatives to transform key sectors of the local economy in the Ejura Traditional Area.
He underscored the need for massive investments in education, health, security, and other critical areas to uplift living standards and drive sustainable growth.
Barimah Osei Hwedie II outlined several landmark projects he has undertaken since ascending the stool, crediting his achievements to the strong support of the Ejurahemaa, Nana Akua Tiwaa II, and the council of elders.
Among the notable projects are the construction of a wall around the Ejura Government Hospital, a six-bedroom bungalow for the Medical Superintendent, and a seven-unit bungalow for the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
He also led the construction of new classroom blocks and an ultra-modern office complex for the Ejura Divisional Police Headquarters, valued at GHC 3.2 million. In addition, 640 acres of land have been released to the Ghana Prison Service, and a military detachment camp has been established to enhance security in the area.
The traditional council has also partnered with organisations to build an ultra-modern market complex and a maternity unit at the Ejura Government Hospital.
Speaking at the climax of the 2025 Ejura Sekyerene Festival on October 11, Barimah Osei Hwedie II highlighted humanitarian interventions such as scholarship support for students and financial assistance to security agencies.
He stressed the importance of projects that create jobs, boost income, and ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
The Ejurahene expressed his appreciation to residents for their support and urged continued unity in pursuing the area’s development goals. He also lauded the significance of the Yam Festival as a moment to reflect, give thanks, and renew the community’s development vision.
His leadership has drawn widespread praise from residents, who commend his commitment to improving living standards and expanding access to essential services.
