The Abora Traditional Area came alive with tradition, colour, and renewed purpose as Nana Ama Kum I was officially enstooled as the Mpuntu Hemaa (Development Queen) at a grand coronation ceremony attended by traditional authorities, government officials, professionals, family members, and residents from across Aboraman.

In her acceptance speech, Nana Ama Kum I expressed profound gratitude to the Paramount Chief of the Abora Traditional Area, Nana Emintsinminim Otu XI, Okotopon Nananom, and all distinguished guests for the trust and confidence reposed in her. She described her coronation not as a personal honour, but as a collective call to service and responsibility.

She explained that she did not accept the role lightly, noting that she undertook deep reflection and consultations with family and loved ones before agreeing to serve. While acknowledging the honour of being called Development Queen, she emphasized that decisions of the elders are guided by wisdom, foresight, and concern for the long-term welfare of the people.

According to Nana Ama Kum I, attention must now shift from titles to action. She called for unity, partnership, and shared responsibility, stressing that development cannot be achieved by one person alone. Reaffirming her roots in Nyanfeku Ekroful, she described herself as a true daughter of the land whose commitment to the progress of Abora remains firm.

Outlining her vision, the Mpuntu Hemaa stated that development in the Abora Traditional Area must be people-centered and relevant to local realities. She emphasized the importance of embracing modern advancements such as improved healthcare, education, sanitation, and digital connectivity, while preserving the culture and traditions that define Abora’s identity.

She warned that development without respect for culture is unsustainable and risks eroding the foundation of the community. At the same time, she encouraged bold and innovative thinking, urging the people to push beyond perceived limits in pursuit of progress.
