In a heartwarming display of community support, Honorable Queenstar Pokuah Sawyerr, Member of Parliament for Agona East, has gifted a bus to the Agona East Queenmothers Association. The donation ceremony was attended by notable dignitaries, including Honorable Ekow Panyin, Central Regional Minister, and the Central Regional President of the Queenmothers Association.
The bus donation was a direct response to a request made by the queenmothers during a previous meeting with MP Sawyerr. During the ceremony, Sawyerr engaged in a meaningful discussion with the queenmothers, addressing pressing issues such as teenage pregnancy, early marriage, school dropout rates, and girl child education.
In addition to the bus, Sawyerr also donated rice and other essential items, along with a monetary contribution. This gesture is part of her ongoing commitment to community development in Agona East.
MP Sawyerr’s philanthropic efforts extend beyond this recent donation. She has previously distributed mathematical sets to over 1,400 students, provided health screenings for widows and the elderly, and launched the Maame Pokua Loan Scheme to support women traders with interest-free loans.
Through her tireless efforts, Sawyerr has demonstrated her dedication to empowering women and girls in Agona East. Her contributions have had a profoundly positive impact on the community, inspiring hope and uplift among her constituents. As she continues to serve the people of Agona East, her commitment to public service remains unwavering.
