The Overlord of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional State, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, has charged the Acting Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD, Dr. Ransford Abbey, to work assiduously and restore the lost glory of the cocoa sector.
Speaking during a courtesy call on him by the acting CEO of COCOBOD as part of his working tour of the region, Okyehene Amoatia Ofori Panin expressed optimism about the capabilities of the new CEO.
He urged Dr Randy Abbey to bring on board innovative initiatives to improve the well-being of cocoa farmers in the country.
Okyehene further assured Dr Randy Abbey of the full backing and support of the Abuakwa Traditional State to help him and the government succeed in their quest to improve the cocoa sector.
“I think it is only fair that we employ those who live in the communities in the sector. We wish you all the best. I am of the firm belief that he can transform the cocoa sector. We wish that you succeed in all you do,” he said.
On his part, Dr Randy Abbey outlined his vision for the cocoa sector. He appreciated the wise counsel from Okyehene, which he indicated would go a long way in helping him manage affairs at his new office.
“For me to be successful in performing my mandate, I realised it was necessary to seek the blessings and advice of Your Majesty,” he stated.
