A group of Concerned NDC Branch Executives in the Upper West Akim constituency of the Eastern Region has come out in strong support of Mr. William Agbelinyo’s candidacy for the District Chief Executive (DCE) position. The group, led by Chairman Hon. Jonathan Abbey, who also serves as the Assembly member for the Nyanoa electoral area, held a press conference to endorse Mr. Agbelinyo’s nomination.

According to Hon. Abbey, Mr. Agbelinyo is the most competent candidate among the three shortlisted for the position. “Mr. William Agbelinyo is a dedicated, selfless, and staunch member of the NDC who has tremendously supported the party from Assembly members’ elections to General Elections,” he stated.

The group’s endorsement comes on the heels of false information circulating on social media, alleging that Mr. Agbelinyo is not a staunch member of the NDC. Specifically, the claims suggested that Mr. Agbelinyo doesn’t reside in the constituency and that he only joined the NDC two months before the elections.

However, the Concerned NDC Branch Executives vehemently denied these allegations, describing them as baseless and a calculated attempt to tarnish Mr. Agbelinyo’s hard-earned reputation. “After several checks, it was established that the above information is fallacy and false,” Hon. Abbey emphasized.

The group called on Ghanaians to disregard the false information about Mr. William Agbelinyo and expressed confidence in his ability to lead the Upper West Akim district to greater heights. “We believe that Mr. Agbelinyo’s dedication, selflessness, and commitment to the NDC make him the ideal candidate for the DCE position,” Hon. Abbey added.

The endorsement by the Concerned NDC Branch Executives is a significant boost to Mr. Agbelinyo’s candidacy, and it remains to be seen how this development will impact the nomination process. One thing is certain, however: Mr. Agbelinyo has the support of key stakeholders in the Upper West Akim constituency, and he is well-positioned to make a strong case for the DCE position.
