Ntim Fordjour Requests Joint Briefing on High-Profile Security Cases

The Ranking Member of the Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Interior, Hon. Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has requested a joint briefing from the National Security, Police CID, Narcotics Control Commission, and National Investigations Bureau.

In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Interior, Hon. Ntim Fordjour requested that the security agencies be invited to brief the committee on crucial security matters.

The briefing, scheduled for Monday, April 7, 2025, at 1100 hours in the Committee Room of Parliament, aims to provide updates on investigations into high-profile reported incidents of serious and urgent public interest.

Specifically, the security agencies are expected to provide updates on investigations into three high-profile cases. Firstly, the operation conducted by National Security in Sapeiman on February 9, 2025, which uncovered twelve 20-foot containers stashed with gold bars and currencies.

Secondly, the agencies will provide updates on the high-profile busts of cocaine, including the $350 million worth of cocaine seized in March, as well as another bust worth $120 million.

Lastly, the committee has requested information on the two suspicious flights, namely AirMed Flight N823AM and Cavok Air Antonov An-12B, which landed at Kotoka International Airport from Gran Canaria on March 20 and March 12, respectively.

The committee has assured that it will also volunteer information that will be useful for the security agencies in the conduct of their investigations into these specific matters.

This move by Hon. Ntim Fordjour demonstrates a commitment to ensuring that the security agencies are transparent and accountable in their investigations, and that the public is informed about the progress of these investigations.
