Osabarima Kwesi Atta II Hails Asantehene’s Friendship as Key to Development

The Paramount Chief of Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, has praised Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for being a “genuine friend” and a key partner in driving development in the region.
Speaking at the climax of the 60th anniversary of the Oguaa Fetu Festival and his 25th anniversary, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II expressed his deep appreciation for the friendship and collaboration between the two traditional leaders.
“You are a discerning friend. I have realized this all this while we have been friends, but it has been affirmed even more today. You are a genuine friend. God bless you,” he said.
Osabarima Kwesi Atta II believes that the friendship between them will enable them to break bounds and attract development in untouched areas, leaving a legacy for the next generation.
“Friendship spurs development. I pray today brings us closer to identifying underdeveloped jurisdictions outside Oguaa to develop them in whatever way we can, whether with our strength, wisdom, or money. This will be in continuation of where our forebears left off, so that the next generation carries on after us.”
The Asantehene was the Guest of Honour at the festival, held at the Oguaa Jubilee Park in the Central Region on September 7, 2024. Other dignitaries in attendance included Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Prof Jane Naana Opku Agyemang, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, British High Commissioner H.E. Harriet Thompson, and Odeefo Amoakwa Buadu VIII, President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs.
The festival was a grand celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the Oguaa people, with traditional music, dance, and art on display.
The event also served as a platform for the traditional leaders to reaffirm their commitment to working together for the development of their communities.
