Ghana’s Democracy Under Threat from Corruption, Says Zanetor

Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, has declared that corruption is the biggest threat to Ghana’s democracy. She made this statement during the launch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign in Tamale, Northern Region, on Saturday, July 27, 2024.
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings emphasized the need for collective action to combat corruption, which she believes hinders the country’s growth and prosperity.
She highlighted that corruption permeates every aspect of Ghanaian life, including education and healthcare, and urged citizens to demand accountability from leaders and work together to combat corruption.
“We must recognize that corruption is the biggest threat to our democracy, not external factors, but corruption that has been perpetuated by the current NPP government,” Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings said. “Today, we must promise each other and promise John Mahama that we will set the bar high with zero tolerance for corruption.”
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings pledged her support to John Mahama in tackling corruption and promised to set high standards, emphasizing that it is a collective responsibility to ensure a brighter future for Ghana.
