Punish NDC Members Who Invoked Curses On EC And NPP PC – Assin Central NPP Tell Chiefs In Assin Fosu
The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Assin Central is demanding the chiefs of Assin Fosu to summon and punish members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who invoked curses on the officials of the Electoral Commission (EC) and the Assin Central NPP Parliamentary candidate, Godfred Nti Anewu.
The NDC had accused the NPP of allegedly transporting people from Kasoa to transfer their vote to the Assin Central Constituency.

In the Efutuakwa Traditional Area (Assin Fosu), it is prohibited to invoke a curse, no matter how dire the situation.
Speaking to the Media at a press conference, the Assin Central NPP Deputy Secretary, James Appiah popularly known as JBK, called on the chiefs to punish the NDC officials who invoked the curse to serve as a deterrent to others.
Also, the Assin Central NPP Communications Director, Bernard Ankomah denied the NPP candidate is transporting people from Kasoa to transfer their vote to Assin Central, as claimed by the NDC.

PRESS CONFERENCE ADDRESSED BY THE ASSIN CENTRAL NPP ON THE POSITION OF THE PARTY ON THE LIES AND BARBARIC ACTS OF THE ASSIN CENTRAL NDC AT THE PREMISES OF THE EC
Ladies and Gentlemen of the press, it will be recalled That the Assin Central NDC held a press conference yesterday, Monday June 3rd and also certain rituals being considered as barbaric and totally unacceptable at the premises of electoral Commission in the constituency.
Ladies and Gentlemen, The NDC alleged that Hon. Godfred Nti Anewu (PC for Assin central Constituency on the ticket of the NPP) has been busing people from Kasoa to Assin Central constituency to transfer their votes to help him win the upcoming elections knowing very well that he has already lost.
They also alleged that the said people are being hosted in hotels in Assin Foso. Based on their unfounded allegations, they mobilized innocent supporters of the party, assembled at the premises of the EC, organized a press conference and invoked curses on people who will come from Kasoa and other places to cast their votes in Assin Central.
They also invoked curses on everyone whose activities go against the wish of the NDC irrespective of its legality or otherwise. They poured libation to summon several deities, broke eggs and slaughtered a sheep as part of their rituals at the main entrance of the Electoral Commission.
Ladies and Gentlemen of the press, we wish to totally condemn in no uncertain terms, these barbaric acts of the NDC that seek to create unnecessary fear and panic in the electorates of Assin central in the upcoming general elections.
We also wish to state that any attempt to tarnish the image of Hon. Godfred Nti Anewu and the party will not hold.
We therefore wish to unequivocally state that Hon.Godfred Nti Anewu and the Party have not bused any persons from Kasoa to come to the constituency to transfer their vote.
Hon Godfred Nti Anewu is a seasoned businessman who knows how to manage resources prudently. It will be financially unwise to transport people, accommodate them at hotels,
and feed them only for the purposes of transferring their votes to Assin Central knowing very well that the NPP has won both the parliamentary and the presidential elections since 2000 elections.
Hon. Godfred Nti Anewu has been attending to the needs of the people and communities of Assin Central and would have used the monies for the purported busing, accommodation and fending for the needs of the constituency.
It is nauseating to note that even after he has thoroughly explained on Nkwa FM, the Assin Central NDC women Organizer is going around peddling falsehood that Hon. Godfred Nti Anewu admitted that he planned doing so but has rescinded his decision. This is a blatant falsehood as the audio played on Nkwa fm attests to that.
At the time of their shambolic press Conference, the EC had only transferred 93 voters from different regions with the least being Central Region. We therefore conclude that the press conference was needless and a swindle on the unsuspecting supporters of the NDC who ignorantly followed the Organizers. We know that their PC is around and they are looking for ways to squander his meagre resources after his long hide out.
We again wish to condemn the rituals performed by the NDC in the process. Ghanaian politics has evolved and performing such rituals in the 21st century is shameful, barbaric and smacks total absurdity. They started with insults, character assassination, attacks on co-panelists, abuse of chiefs and now they have introduced invocation of curses and performance of certain rituals.
This is unacceptable and we call on Nananom to call the NDC to order especially because the curses were extended to everyone who does not align with the NDC.
We are again calling on Nananom to call the NDC to order because we know that this invocation of curses and performance of rituals was premeditated and not just a response to their unfounded allegation. The NDC intends to perform several of these rituals believing that their electoral fortunes depend on these rituals. They intend to bury many live animals and cause chaos all to prevent the defeat that stares them on the face.
Unfortunately, they performed these barbaric acts at the full glare of the Police without any attempt to prevent them.
According to Section 207 of the Criminal Offenses ACT 1960 (Act 29), these acts of the NDC is criminal as they were performed in public and at the hearing and sight of the public and the Police.
We call on the Police to bring the NDC to book and not to wait for things to escalate. Assin Central has been peaceful and we want it to remain same. We also call on religious leaders to condemn these acts of the NDC as most of the actors were people considered to be Christians and Muslims.
We also call on the EC to take action against the NDC so it does not reoccur.
We wish to state finally that the NPP has been good to the people of Assin Central and they will reward us adequately in this general elections and Hon Godfred Nti Anewu will give the absentee opponent a wide gap and a good run for his money.
We call on the general public to disregard these unfounded allegations and treat it with the utmost contempt it deserves.
We finally call on our proud party supporters to come together and let us advance in unity to win the parliamentary seat and break the eight
LONG LIVE GHANA
LONG LIVE ASSINMAN
LONG LIVE NPP!!
